Buying Supplements

Before you buy any supplement, Ask these questions.

Next time you’re thinking of buying that new supplement – be it green powders, some sort of hormone balance blend or an “energy boosting tonic” I want you to ask yourself these 4 questions 🙋‍♀️

👉 Have I tried/am I able to get enough sleep, exercise when I can, manage my stress and have generally healthy eating habits that include all food groups? No Supplement will cancel out these key factors.

👉 Am I deficient in any micronutrient that has been made aware to me by a health professional that can be corrected by this supplement? Example: you receive news that blood tests show you are anaemic and this can be corrected by taking an iron supplement.

👉 Am I confident in reading the ingredients label and understand its claims, active ingredient and recommended dosage for effect? Labelling can be really confusing and sometimes misleading – if you can’t understand it you probably shouldn’t be taking it or else ask a medical professional to take a look for you.

👉Am I buying it for the hype and how it looks or am I buying it because it aligns with my goals? At the end of the day, everyone is different and it is up to you to make informed decisions about your health.
If you answered no to all these questions then you should save your money and time because you will more often than not benefit more from sustainable lifestyle changes 🙌

Disclaimer: this does not applying to Vitamin D – regardless of a deficiency, everyone in the UK and Ireland should be taking a vitamin D supplement between the months of October – March.
